This role reports to Senior QHSSE Manager and will be operating out of Metito Sharjah offices in the United Arab Emirates. The right candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s overall Quality, Occupational Health, Safety & Environment Management Systems development and implementation within the Group.

In this role, the QHSE Manager will ensure full compliance with QHSE standards, particularly QMS, EMS, and OHSMS as well as provide advice and recommendations for improvement. Implementing preventive and corrective actions to avoid the occurrence of any QHSE violation will also be a key responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain and administer the Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
  • Report to the Executive Leadership Team on IMS performance
  • Ensure the promotion of customer requirements throughout the organization
  • Liaise with external parties relating to ISO and other QHSE related matters
  • Ensure that Metito employees, contractors, and subcontractors are aware of applicable legislative and regulatory requirements pertaining to their duties for the operation of the IMS by conducting IMS awareness training sessions
  • Plans, coordinates, and performs the lead role in internal and external audits
  • Supervise staff in the development and implementation of action plans to address any non-conformance items and other audit observations received from the internal and external audits
  • Build effective relationships and ensure a balanced and informed perspective when performing duties in sensitive environments
  • Communicate effectively with Senior Management and officials
  • Ensure all QHSE manuals, processes and procedures are up to date and easily accessible by all staff
  • Train relevant employees on in process mapping, when necessary
  • Supports business development and securing new clients
  • Ensure health and safety programs are integrated into existing work systems
  • Consult and communicate to promote health and safety in the workplace
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the standards of Labour Camps
  • Identification and assessment of workplace hazards and development of control strategies
  • Responsible for workplace inspections and accident/incident investigations
  • Assesses the environmental impact of planned OHS and EMS and actual changes in workplace and work practices
  • Responsible for recording and analysis of relevant OHS data
  • Ensures environmental programs are integrated into existing work systems for optimal impact on the environment
  • Responsible for recording and analysis of relevant EMS data
  • Execute safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings, give recommendations for corrective or preventive measures, where indicated, and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Establish and conduct QHSE training sessions, contribute to the development and upgrade of QHSE training programs for both internal and external use
  • Follow up and renew company’s accreditations and product certifications
  • Make sure that all manufacturing procedures and applicable standards are always adhered to and that only approved raw materials are used to ensure acceptable end products quality
  • Lead the inspection, testing and release of all manufactured products in compliance with quality standards prior to delivery and investigate nonconformities if any
  • Ensure that all testing and measuring equipment are calibrated in accordance with the latest norms and requirement
  • Responsible for the preparation, control, issuance, and implementation of all project-related Quality Control Manuals in a timely manner
  • Implement new designs and processes in alignment with the latest global requirements, trends, and technologies
  • Construct knowhow manuals encompassing the design and dimensional properties, manufacturing specifications, other specifications, process sheets, raw material consumption, quality assurance, and installation
  • Supervise and approve, when applicable, all drafting activities including product drawings and isometrics
  • Communicate with clients regarding any site related issues/incidents
  • Provide any required design calculation or technical documentation requested by clients

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Chemical/Electrical is a must
  • 10 Years as Managerial Experience
  • Grad IOSH (Preferred NEBOSH IDip)
  • CMIOSH (Preferred)
  • Certified Lead Auditor for QMS, EMS & OHSMS (latest standards)
  • NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely
  • Black Belt in Six Sigma (Preferred)
  • Other Courses and certificates in QHSE are added advantage
