Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Responsible for effective Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) management at Branch level (development, implementation, compliance, measurement, reporting and training), and to deliver the expected HSE outcomes on water management and sewerage management, and customer management within the Branch.

·       Oversee all HSE activity at Branch level and significantly improve the safety culture of the North Branch

·       Implement and manage HSE programs, including programs for reduction of incidents (human and environmental) and programs for transformation of safety culture at all staff levels.

·       Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations, including but not limited to: internal policies and metrics, training requirements, incident prevention, hazard controls

·       Manage the annual HSE budget, HSE objectives, budgets and metrics within the Branch.

·       Develop, review and implement HSE policies, procedures and metrics within the Branch.

·       Conduct and participate in all HSE audits, both internal and external.

·       Analyse HSE data and propose intervention strategies.

·       Support O&M teams in HSE compliance initiatives, incident prevention, investigations, hazard control, safety and environmental audits and HSE training.

·       Determine and provide all industrial-safety related support to protect staff health and safety through hazard controls in the work environment.

·       Define and implement cost-effective HSE control measures to reduce incident rates and costs.

·       Prepare monthly HSE reports for the management teams including progress on established HSE metrics, investigations, initiatives and compliance.

·       Conduct all HSE investigations and prepare comprehensive and timely reports.

·       Conduct and track all HSE training.

·       Serve as a Subject-Matter Expert in HSE (environmental regulations, OSHA regulations, LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, ERP, HSE training, etc)

·       Monitor environmental and safety regulations in the country and conduct industry benchmarking

·       Manage all HSE personnel at Branch level.

·       Ensure a smooth transition in the beginning of the contract in his/her areas of responsibility.

·       Ensure good collaboration and interaction with NWC entities and local authorities.

Ensure the implementation of new management processes and tools under HSE scope

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

·       B.Sc. Engineering Degree or Occupational Health & Safety

·       Total experience: 15 years

·       Water industry experience: 15 years

·       Functional experience in their area: 10 years

 Management experience related to this position: 10 years
